Merry Christmas from the Director of Education

Dear Families,

On behalf of the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB), I extend my warmest wishes for a blessed and joyful Christmas season to you and your family.

As I reflect on 2024, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Director of Education within this vibrant Catholic learning community. Reflecting on growth and challenges over this past year, I am reminded of our commitment to providing faith-filled learning environments where each member is loved, inspired, and successful.

Looking ahead, we are excited to begin the review of our Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) in the new year. Guided by student voice and the input from staff, families, and community partners—collected through the recent survey—this process will shape our vision and goals for the next five years. Your continued engagement in this process is vital to ensuring we reflect the needs and aspirations of our Catholic school community.

Additionally, our Pastoral Themes for 2025-2030 are in development. These themes will serve as a spiritual guidepost for our faith-based mission, and I look forward to sharing them with you in the coming year. Click here to read more about our current pastoral themes.

For families preparing to join our community, registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. We look forward to welcoming new students and families into our Catholic school community. To pre-register, please visit:

Thank you for your continued support of Catholic education. May this season of hope, peace, and love fill your hearts and homes. From all of us at ALCDSB, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

With blessings and gratitude,

David DeSantis
