St. Joseph Catholic School Opens

Students, staff, and community are starting their day at St. Joseph Catholic School on Bridge Street East now that the new school has officially opened.

The Kindergarten to Grade 8 Catholic school broke ground in Spring of 2022. While the construction took place, St. Joseph Catholic School community was temporarily housed at Sir Winston Churchill Public School site.

The new addition welcomes space for 481 students, 20 learning studios, six learning commons, gathering stairs (known as the ‘heart’), various breakout spaces, two EarlyOn rooms, and licensed child care.

The EarlyON space and child care will open in the new year.

Thank you to Colbourne & Kembel Architects Inc. and contractor Emmons & Mitchell Construction Ltd. for your continued partnership to ensure the construction of this state-of-the-art school.

“We are so excited to see the opening of St. Joseph Catholic School,” said Michele McGrath, Superintendent of Education. “This new building will allow for so many unique learning opportunities for not only these students, but the community as well.”

A school blessing and school open house will take place later in January.
