ALCDSB is Seeking Host Families for International students for the 2024-25 School Year

The ideal Homestay arrangement for International students is to be placed with a family, couple or single person who lives within the city limits of Kingston or Belleville.

International students may require housing for the full academic year or for only part of the year.

Full academic year - Host parents should anticipate a late August arrival to Canada (2024) and an end of June (2025) departure to home country.

First semester - Host parents should anticipate a late August arrival to Canada (2024) a later January or early February departure (the last day of the first semester is January 31, 2025).

First four months of the academic year - Host parents should anticipate a late August arrival to Canada (2024) and mid-late December departure to their home country. The student plans to return home for Christmas.

The main requirement to becoming a Homestay family is the ability to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. In addition to providing a caring home environment the Homestay family must provide the student with adequate housing, meals, transportation and be available to support the student in their commitment to schooling, social, and extracurricular activities during their time in Canada.
