NCC hosts Culture Day

November 17, 2016

Students cooking with teacherAs part of their anti-bullying awareness week, Nicholson Catholic College students hosted a Culture day to promote inclusivity among all students, Canadian and international students.

The Culture day, which was a joint effort between NCC Peer Mentors and International students, included food dishes from Brazil, Japan, China, Spain, Mexico, Canada and Argentina. The event allowed NCC students to explore different cultures, eat great food, and listen to music from different cultures.

Thank you to the NCC international students who spent two days cooking to prepare their traditional foods from their country of origin.

As part of NCC's promotion of inclusivity among all students, Morning Prayer was read throughout the week in different languages.

Nicholson Catholic College in Belleville is one of two secondary schools in the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board that host international students each year. Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in Kingston is the other school.
