École Catholique Cathédral Water Walk

Students on the water walkDid you know that only one percent of the Collage off the water walkworld's water supply is potable water? On May 25, Mr. Kyte's Grade 6/7 class from École Catholique Cathédral participated in a Water Walk to raise awareness and money for communities in Tanzania who lack access to potable water. Their goal was to raise $1, 250 to provided clean water to communities in Tanzania through the work of World Vision. Mr. Kyte's class exceeded this goal, raising $1,710

Teams of students carried four 40-pound jerry cans filled with water through downtown Kingston, similar to what women in developing countries must do daily. The class of 24 students has been learning about water conservation and how little of the world's population actually has access to potable water.
