Pray and Play Day

June 18, 2015

Students holding play day banner St. Gregory Catholic School in Picton held a “Pray and Play Day” as they celebrated the upcoming Pan Am/Para Pan Am games in Toronto. School staff initiated the activities and the grade 8 students helped organize the games. A prayerful final school Mass commenced the festivities in the morning. Opening ceremonies were held after a special barbeque lunch where each class cheered on their representative country from around the world.  Special guest, Cheryl McLellan, from the school community, presented the uniform she will be wearing when she volunteers at the Pan Am/Para Pan Am games later this summer. The gym was busting with energy as each class left the gym to participate in the games. Some of the events included Cooperative Volleyball, Fast Break Lacrosse, Bowlerama and Dance Machine. St. Gregory’s school community worked together to enjoy the challenge, the sprit, and the essence of the upcoming games.
